How I Treat

"It is the combination of reasonable talent and the ability to keep going in the face of defeat that leads to success." -Martin Seligman

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a very effective, evidenced based treatment for anxiety and depression. Difficulties in present, daily life are the main focus. Earlier life experiences will be discussed as they may relate to development of present day difficulties. Patterns of thinking and behavior are evaluated and targeted for change. The goal of therapy is for you to develop strategies that help you to recognize and change old ways of thinking and behaving. People in therapy for more than six months report the most progress. Initial benefits can occur within 12 to 16 weeks.
