Psychotherapy
Process

"Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." -George Bernard Shaw

The more diligently you search for a psychologist with the necessary experiences and qualifications, the easier it is to form a partnership to be open about issues, even the painful subjects and to work on issues between session that ultimately lead to greater progress.

As a clinical psychologist, I have a doctorate in psychology. I diagnose and treat mental health conditions by using counseling therapy. I am also qualified to evaluate mental health conditions using psychological tests.

My approach is to use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). It is goal directed and will focus intensely on your thoughts, behaviors, feelings and beliefs in order to achieve your goals.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a very effective, evidenced based treatment for anxiety and depression. Difficulties in present, daily life are the main focus. Earlier life experiences will be discussed as they may relate to the development of present day difficulties. Patterns of thinking and behavior are evaluated and targeted for change. The goal of therapy is for you to develop strategies that help you to recognize and change old ways of thinking and behaving. People in therapy for more than six months report the most progress. Initial benefits can occur within 12 to 16 weeks.
